Here we have a vintage 1942 Kansas license plate. The plate feature the iconic sunflower design, the low number number 74-81 and a green background coloring. This style of license plate was used for a single year in 1942. The sunflowers adorn the bottom corners and were transferred on as decals. The 74 prefix indicated that this plate was originally registered to a car in Decatur county, Kansas. Kansas started at number 1 for each county, so this was only the 81st plate issued in Decatur county for the year.
